CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A flurry of activity was taking place Tuesday afternoon at the Corridor’s second Dunkin’ Donuts on Blairs Ferry Road. A sign tall enough to attract passing traffic has been erected and large semi-trucks were being unloaded.

Carrie Reckert, a spokeswoman for Dunkin’ Donuts corporate Midwest office in the Chicago area, said the company is not announcing an official start date but is aiming to have the store, at 2905 Blairs Ferry Road NE, open by the end of September, with a grand opening to take place in October.

Andrea Farley, franchise and operations manager of Eastern Iowa Food Service, said in late August that all shift mangers have been hired and received training, and the company is now finishing filling bakery and associate positions.

The first Corridor location, at 604 Second St. in Coralville, opened this past June.

Eastern Iowa Food Service, a subsidiary of Reif Oil Co., said it will open a dozen new restaurants in Eastern Iowa over the next six years. Construction has begun on the company’s third location in Dubuque.
