ALLAMAKEE COUNTY, Iowa - Ice-covered roads may have been a factor in a crash that killed one person in Allamakee County.
The crash happened north of Highway 76 on County Road X52 at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday. A 1992 Chevy Blazer was driving north when it slid into the east ditch and hit a rock. The Blazer, then, rolled and threw the driver. The vehicle came to rest in the east ditch facing south - opposite of the way that it had been driving.
Iowa State Patrol said the road was completely ice-covered at the time of the crash.
Authorities have not released the name of the driver. They are waiting until all family has been notified.
