WILLIAMSBURG, Iowa (AP) — An eastern Iowa water park has agreed to close due to concerns about chlorination of swimming areas and water testing.

The Iowa Department of Public Health says Monday the Wasserbahn Waterpark at the Clarion Inn in Williamsburg agreed to close its activity pool, wading pool, water slides and spa as part of an agreement with the agency.

The agreement followed an enforcement action filed by the health department that cited the water park for repeated violations of state swimming pool regulations. Those problems included failure to properly chlorinate the swimming facility, maintain proper water chemistry, test the water and keep records.

The Johnson County Public Health department worked with the business, but the facility didn't comply with corrective action plans.

A consent agreement closing the facility was signed Friday.
