A Perfect Saturday for Hog Wild Days

HIAWATHA, Iowa - A perfect Saturday to take on the Tilt-A-Whirl with a blueberry funnel cake coating the stomach. After the morning parade through downtown Hiawatha, hundreds spent hours amid the greenery of Guthridge Park, taking in the free music - the one and only dunk tank and those infamous rides.

Yet for so many of the families out for this Saturday -- a carnival of color lit up the eyes of the kids.

"It's been a lot of fun. I have two small children so the parade followed by the after parade party is the perfect morning for us. Really nice and the breeze has kept a lot of the heat away and we've really enjoyed it," parent, Julie Blackwell said.

Hog Wild Days wraps up on late Sunday night and not before the Ping Pong Drop - with free prizes for the kids.
