Kyle Marin, 19, of North Liberty is charged in the stabbing deaths of two Kirkwood Community College students.Marin had an initial appearance in Linn District Court today. He was ordered held on a $1 million bond each for the two murder charges.
Police responded to a call at the College Park Apartments just before 5:30 last night.
They found Molly Edmondson, 18, of Colombus Junction and Katrina Hill, 18, of Solon.
Kirkwood students KCRG-TV9 News spoke with say the two women were cousins. Police say both were stabbed to death, but have not released any additional details about the murder yet.
Marin is scheduled to return to a preliminary hearing on May 4.
TV9 learned in court proceedings today that Marin is on probation for a willful injury case in Johnson County.
Kirkwood Community College officials say Marin enrolled last Fall and last Spring, but withdrew both times and is no longer an active student.
