EAST DUBUQUE - A Wisconsin family is calling in help from three states to find their missing son.
Matthew Kruziki, 24, was last seen early Christmas Eve morning in East Dubuque, Illinois. After several days of searching there's still no sign. His father, Bill Kruziki has rallied the help of dozens of fellow law enforcement officers to help search for his missing son.
Enforcement officers are voluntarily giving up their holiday weekend, to search for Matt Kruziki. And it's all for one reason.
"There was no decision to be made. One of our family to be here for him," said Lt. Jeffery Greb, Wauzeka County Sheriff’s Dept.
Among this search team are United States Marshals from Cedar Rapids and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Also helping were several members of the Wauzeka County Sheriff's Department.
"We've got the 3 groups, not including the K-9 group. We have two K-9 units and 5 officers."
Lieutenant Greb says he'll stay as long as the Kruziki family needs him or until they find Matt. For these veteran officers, this is the first time searching for someone they know and love.
"Pretty helpless. We want to do everything we can and hope this comes to a positive resolution. He’s literally, practically a member of our family."
As for Bill Kruziki and his wife, emotions are running high. Six days and no sign of their son, but the couple tells TV9 their humbled by the outpouring of support.
