This JustIN: Drinking on the job?

So I’m working on a story about a possible shortage of beer, how can you not do a little research?  Here’s a look behind the scenes of our business.  The brewer offers me a beer and at first I have to turn it down.  Basically that was out of habit from doing my fair share of stories in bars.  But then I figured it would look funny if I was doing a story about beer and didn’t follow along.  I mean if I wanted to tell you about a pancake festival, I’d have a pancake, and so it goes.  But I’m not sure if my boss would appreciate me drinking in front of all you on the TV tonight.  So we do the segment twice, once where I drink, and another were I don’t.  You'll have to watch the story either toinght at ten, or online to see which one made it.  Sometimes when we’re out shooting the news, reporters have to think of all different ways we might need something back in the editing bay.  It constantly keeps me on my feet.  I’ll tell you, both the beer at Granite City and Millstream Brewing were great.  I brought some of the hops home to show everyone here at the newsroom what they looked like.

Refined hops (pictured below) look like Rabbit food, and smell even worse.

Yet, the brewers I talked with thought the hops smelled great.  I asked if there are any beers that don’t use hops, the brewers told me the only thing they could think of was scotch.  I laughed, I happen to like scotch.

As always, let me know what you think about the blog, I’m dying for a few comments.  Although, I should probably post this line above the blog because you probably don’t end up reading the whole entry...(insert sarcastic remark here)...
