Two Injured Edgewood Teens Released from Hospital, One Still Critical

EDGEWOOD - Two of the teens injured in a fatal Edgewood car accident have been discharged from the hospital. Dexter Kuehl, 15, and Terry Scott, 16, have been released from University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Steven Shellito, 15, of Edgewood died. The driver, Derek Pritchard, 15, went to the Manchester Hospital, but there's no word yet on his condition. Brandon Ahlers, 15, is still in critical condition at University Hospitals.

The car crashed Monday morning at the Clayton-Delaware County line at the intersection of Highway 3 and Littleport Road.

Clayton County officials say the two in the front were wearing seat belts but the three in the back were not. Iowa state law does not require passengers riding in the back seat to wear seat belts. Iowa Seatbelt Code
