Iowa City Police Investigate Two Armed Robberies

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Police in Iowa City are investigating two armed robberies from over the weekend.

On Friday night at around 11:00, Iowa City Police responded to the Sycamore Mall for an armed robbery. The victim of the robbery says that after he had left a movie, he returned to his car. That's when he says a black male knocked on his window with a pocket knife and demanded money. The robber is described as a black male between 5'6" and 5'8", weighing between 230 and 250 pounds and in his 40's. He had a black goatee and black and gray hair.

On Saturday night at roughly 11:30, Police responded to another armed robbery. This time, the victim reported that while he was walking down Keokuk Street, he was approached by two white men. When they passed each other, one of the men stabbed the victim in the back while the other demanded money. The two men then took the victim's wallet and left the area. Both men are described as between the ages of 25 and 30. One man is described as 6'2" with black shoulder length hair. The other man was roughly 5'10" with shoulder length blonde hair.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
