Frequently Asked Questions

How do I improve the appearance of my teeth?
Tooth whitening, veneers, crowns and orthodontics are frequently used methods to improve the appearance and function of your existing dentition. Tooth whitening can be done during office visits or at home. Veneers and crowns are prosthetic sheaths that envelop teeth to improve their shape or strength. Orthodontics improves the alignment of teeth that can fix crowding and spacing. Slight movement can be corrected with near invisible orthodontic methods called invisalign.
How do I replace a missing tooth and what is a dental implant?
Dental implants are surgically placed titanium roots that can be used for a single or multiple tooth replacement. No-surgical treatment including partial or complete denture and lab made porcelain cemented bridge also can be options for replacing teeth.
How do I know if my child or I need dental treatment?
Oral and dental conditions can arise without warning or obvious symptoms. You and especially your children should schedule regular dental appointments to evaluate the risk for these dental conditions. Dental decay can be transmitted from parent to child so a healthy mouth for you is the easiest way to endure the best oral health for your children. Any pain or swelling requires immediate attention. In the event of persistent pain or selling, root canal treatment may be indicated. Root canal treatment is appropriately named as the root of the affected tooth must be cleaned of infection and scaled to prevent further contamination.
How do I replace my old silver discolored fillings?
Old silver or discolored fillings can be replaced with whiter, tooth colored composites resin or strong porcelain restorations or crowns in the same day.
How can I afford dental implants and how do I know what my insurance covers?
Our office has skilled financial coordinators that will talk to your insurance while your treatment plan is being formulated. Some insurance plans have yearly payout limits and cover some work partially or not at all. This is common frustration and we will work with you to generate reasonable payment options to ensure you get the best treatment possible.
