BETTENDORF, Iowa -- More than one thousand people packed into a factory in the Quad Cities to hear from presumptive GOP presidential nominee, Mitt Romney. During a half-hour speech at LeClaire Manufacturing in Bettendorf, Romney challenged President Obama on his handling of the economy among several other issues.
The former Governor of Massachusetts said the company is a good example of American tradition. A sign for LeClaire Manufacturing read "Built With These Hands" near the stage. The theme was a jab at comments made by President Obama earlier this summer. Employees standing behind Romney wore shirts that read, "Government didn't build my business, I did."
LeClaire is a company of about 200 people, which specializes in steal castings.
Earlier in the day President Obama announced two upcoming Iowa campaign stops set for next week.
