CORALVILLE, Iowa - Volunteers are sandbagging alongside a partially completed permanent flood wall in Coralville.

"I remember thinking last time was a 500 year flood," said Travis Heck, who helped with the sandbagging efforts.

Volunteers said they figured the flood wall would have been completed long before another flood event would threaten the area behind the Iowa River Power restaurant.

The Iowa River is expected to continue rising into next week as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers continues release increased amounts of water from Coralville Lake.
