Maquoketa River Flooding Part of Downtown Manchester

MANCHESTER, Iowa - Following heavy rain on Wednesday, the Maquoketa River has spilled out of its banks flooding a portion of downtown Manchester.

Several inches of rain has caused the river to rise more than 10 feet in a 12-hour period.

The flooding is affecting several businesses along West Main Street, including Barron Motor Supply, where one employee estimates 30 inches of flood water.

Highway 13 has been closed in Manchester due to the flooding.

The river is expected to crest at about 23.2' later today, flood stage is 12'.
