DUNKERTON, Iowa - Evacuations are underway this morning in Dunkerton due to flooding. The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office tells KCRG.com that evacuations are taking place in downtown Dunkerton, near Crane Creek.

Evacuations started at about 5 a.m., with emergency officials going door-to-door along Main Street.

City officials said the evacuations began after Crane Creek jumped several feet following heavy rain on Wednesday evening.
