Josh Baynes tours Mercy Medical Center. Sandbags completely surrounded the building. Josh said the officials at the hospital were worried about the pressure of the water toward the windows that they also sandbagged the inside of the building.
All patients of Mercy were transferred to St. Luke Hospital.
At this point 88 of the 99 counties were declared disaster areas.
However, Chris Earl reports that the first sights of receeding waters in some areas were being noticed. In some places water was not as high as the stop signs any more. The water was dipping in certain edges making it still too much for civilians to tour.
Earl said police were patroling to make sure people were not going into high watered areas. Some people were driving trucks in the high water spots. Some pedestrians were also being seen in the area.
Ashley Hinson and Claire Kellett had to break in with news that Jones County sent out an emergency evacuation for Cooksville near Oxford Junction. That evacuation was scheduled for noon.
