KCRG studio was in the mandatory evacuation, but employees remained to bring continuous coverage.

People seeking shelter could have gone to Prairie High School where the American Red Cross had set up. If evacuees had pets they were asked to drop animals at Kirkwood Community College.

Some residents felt flood would be much worse than what it was previously near Indian Creek.

Many detour routes including the I-80 route, were set up because of bridges being covered or soon to be covered by water.

The 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew was enforced for the downtown area during the evacuation orders.
