Justin Foss reports after thirty minutes city had more than one hundred sandbaggers. Before the information went on air the city said they only had ten people to help.
Cedar River currents were going fast. Due to lightening no rescue efforts were occurring.
Fire officials at fire station reports so much of their items were gone.
Rescuers were out until they could no longer stay out in areas.
Approximately eleven areas were evacuated in Iowa City.
Gawkers were asked to stay out of areas for safety reasons.
Mark Geary reports water in Cedar Rapids continued to rise above fourth street bridge and water in other areas continued going up. Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha and surrounding areas were asked to also conserve water.
