Pet Shelter for Evacuees in Linn County

CEDAR RAPIDS - If you have been evacuated, you may take your pets to the Animal Health Technology building on the campus at Kirkwood Community College. If you can, please call (319) 398-4980 to tell them you will be arriving. From Kirkwood Boulevard, turn east on 76th Avenue by the truck driving school, then take the first left, and immediately turn left again into the parking lot. Animals may be taken to this facility from 8 am to 8 pm daily; outside of those hours, please call to make arrangements.

Please leave your animals in your car and come into the building to complete paperwork. Do not come directly into the building with your animals!

If your animals can't be safely handled by others, please do not bring them for shelter.

If your pets are at the shelter, you may visit your pet between the hours at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 pm.
