Iowa 3 reopens in Butler County

NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – July 14, 2008 – A section of Iowa 3 west of Shell Rock in Butler County will reopen Tuesday, July 15, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (Iowa DOT) New Hampton construction office.

The Iowa DOT closed this section of Iowa 3, approximately two miles east of the Iowa 188 intersection, due to damage from last month's flooding.

As part of an emergency repair project, crews replaced the damaged pavement and added paved shoulders to help protect the roadway from future washouts.
