CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar River is expected to crest Thursday evening between 20 feet and 21.5 feet. The crest of the 1993 flood was 19.27 feet. The floods in 1999 and 2004 crested at 18.3 feet.

As a follow-up to Sunday's meeting, Linn County officials will meet again on Monday at 3 p.m. at the Linn County Emergency Operations Center at Kirkwood Community College with city officials from Cedar Rapids and other Linn County municipalities to discuss flood preparations.

At 20.2 feet, the Cedar River will reach the bottom of the 3rd Ave. Bridge. Road closures are anticipated at Otis Road, Ellis Road and Edgewood Road, as well as other low lying areas.

Palo is one area expected to be impacted by the flood. The Linn County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is meeting with Palo officials Monday morning.

Linn County EMA is also monitoring the Wapsipinicon River.

More information will become available following Monday afternoon’s meeting, including the availability of and need for sandbags and potential need for volunteers.

Linn County is currently under a flood warning.
