CEDAR RAPIDS - The floods have left a significant emotional and economic impact on our community. In response to requests from so many people who want to help, the AEGON Transamerica Foundation has established a special fund to assist our community in the recovery and rebuilding effort.
Donations, which are tax-deductible, can be made only by mailing of a check or money order payable to the AEGON Transamerica Foundation. The AEGON Transamerica Foundation will match contributions, dollar for dollar, up to $1 million. Please designate the donation is for the Disaster Relief Fund, and mail your donation to Marie Swope, 4333 Edgewood Road N.E.,
Cedar Rapids, IA 52499. For questions, contact Marie at (319) 355-8935 or email mswope@aegonusa.com. To qualify for the Foundation match, contributions must be received by September 1, 2008.
It will take some time for the most pressing yet unfulfilled needs to be identified and the Foundation will ensure the contributions go to the right not-for-profit organizations to help solve the areas of greatest need. We are very proud and thankful for the offers to help that we have received from so many. Together we will do our best to assist in the recovery from this devastating flood.
