By Becky Ogann

WHO: The service is available to all families affected by the Iowa flood that are in need of clean clothes.

WHAT: Beginning Saturday, June 21st, the Tide CleanStart mobile laundromat, in partnership with America's Second Harvest, The Nation’s Food Bank Network, will deliver "loads of hope" - and clean clothes – to the residents of Waterloo who are in need of resources and support following the recent flooding. Waterloo is centrally located to best accommodate the residents of nearby neighborhoods hardest hit by the flood.

• Families are encouraged to drop off their laundry to be washed, dried and folded by the Tide CleanStart team, free of charge.
• The Tide CleanStart mobile laundry facility contains 32 energy-efficient Frigidaire® Affinity™ washers and dryers.
• The truck can do approximately 300 wash and dry cycles a day — equal to one year's worth of laundry for a single family.

The Tide CleanStart truck is a mobile laundromat created in 2005 to provide much needed free laundry services to families in the areas that were affected by Hurricane Katrina. Inspired by the resilience and spirit of the people of New Orleans, Tide was driven to expand and bring the CleanStart program to Southern California, to help the families affected by the devastating wildfires of October 2007. Collectively, Tide has washed more than 30,000 loads of laundry for Gulf Coast and Southern California families.

WHY: Through its work in the New Orleans and Southern California recovery efforts, Tide has learned that the little things - like washing clothes - can make a big difference to those who have lost the comforts of home. The flood that devastated many parts of Iowa has forced thousands of Iowans out of their homes, leaving them without basic needs and resources. The Tide CleanStart truck is prepared to help displaced residents, people in shelters and all people whose clothing and personal items have been impacted by the flood. The Tide CleanStart team is committed to help renew a sense of hope to Iowa families in need.
