Mandatory Evacuation in Iowa City - Expanded

IOWA CITY - There is a mandatory evacuation of Eastmore Drive, Manor Drive, Granada Court, Park Place and Normandy Drive in Iowa City.

In the interest of safety of Iowa Citizens living and working in the area, Mayor Regenia D. Bailey issued a mandatory evacuation order of residents of the above streets effective June 12, 2008.

Public safety personnel will inform the residents in a direct, door-to-door canvas. Transportation will be provided to those who require it. Those without other housing options will be transported to the Red Cross Shelter at the Johnson County 4-H Fairgrounds. All non-essential traffic will be routed away from this area while this evacuation process is underway.
