McCain to Visit Flood-Damaged Iowa on Thursday

DES MOINES (AP) - John McCain, the GOP's presidential nominee in waiting, has announced plans to visit flood-ravaged Columbus Junction in southeast Iowa on Thursday.

He will tour the town and meet with residents and business owners, said spokesman Eric Woolson.

McCain's visit, scheduled for around noon (CDT).

McCain's visit is separate from the one planned by President Bush, who is scheduled to tour the flood damage Thursday in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.
