Flood-Related Road Repairs Begin in Northeast Iowa

BRITT – The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Britt construction office is announcing flood-related road repairs beginning today (Monday) in several northeast Iowa counties.

Work associated with this project will be full depth patching of small sections on each roadway. The counties that work will take place in include: Floyd, Butler, Fayette, Winneshiek, Allamakee, and Black Hawk. The routes include: Iowa 14 six miles east of Charles City, Iowa 14 from Allison south to Parkersburg, Iowa 150 from Fayette south to Maynard, U.S. 52 in Calmer, Iowa 3 six and one-half miles east of Allison, Iowa 9 in Waukon, Iowa 9 from Cresco to Ridgeway, and Iowa 3 in Oelwein.

One crew will be utilized and move from route to route. Traffic on two lane roads will be controlled with flaggers and pilot cars and on four lane roads lanes, closures will be used. This work is expected to take three weeks to complete.
