New Hampshire Debates Dominate the Weekend

With only four days left until the New Hampshire primary, the remaining Democratic and Republican candidates will debate each other Saturday in Manchester on ABC with the Republican candidates heading into a second round Sunday on FOX.

Saturday’s event will be moderated by ABC News anchor Charles Gibson while Chris Wallace of FOX News will play referee for Sunday’s bout.

Saturday’s debate on ABC will feature both parties, beginning with the Republican candidates.

Coming off of their first real test in Iowa, Thursday’s race has narrowed the field on both sides.

Though no Republicans have dropped out of the race, California Congressman Duncan Hunter will not be in attendance Saturday after a last place finish in Iowa.

Democratic Congressmen Dennis Kucinich (OH) and Mike Gravel (AK) also failed to make the cut and will not appear Saturday.

In order to appear in the ABC debate, candidates had to place at least fourth in Iowa, hold at least 5% in one of the last four major polls in New Hampshire or hold 5% or better in one of the last four major national polls.

Democrats Joe Biden (DL) and Chris Dodd (CT) have already dropped out of the race.

Sunday’s debate on FOX will not feature the same lineup of GOP candidates with Texas Congressman Ron Paul failing to receive an invitation.

Much to the outrage of his supporters, Paul apparently failed to meet FOX’s criteria and the network has yet to respond to the campaign’s fuming supporters demands that Paul be admitted regardless.
