Clinton Man Charged with Voter Fraud

By Becky Ogann

CLINTON (AP) - A Clinton man who authorities say was ineligible to vote has been charged with voter fraud after he allegedly cast a ballot in the Nov. 4 presidential election.

Authorities say David Borgman, 41, has been charged with first-degree election misconduct. The charge is a Class D felony and is punishable by up to five years in prison.

Authorities say he went to a polling site on Nov. 4 and completed and signed a voter registration form, swearing and affirming, among other things, that he had never been convicted of a felony. He submitted the form and then cast his vote.

Court records show that Borgman was convicted of a felony third-offense drunken driving charge in 2006.
