DES MOINES (AP) - The state has found nearly $2 million that could fund a recreation trail in Dallas and Guthrie counties and three other projects.

The four proposals were close to securing grants from Vision Iowa's Community Attraction and Tourism program when Gov. Chet Culver directed the program's money to flood and tornado recovery. The grant money now will be diverted from another program.

The Vision Iowa board will likely meet in January or February to allocate the money.

Other projects include a nature center at Lake Iowa Park, a downtown streetscape project in Jefferson and a recreation center in Sheldon.
