Early Risers Line-Up to Vote
CEDAR RAPIDS - Tuesday morning, early risers were in line waiting before they went to work.
Tim Dermott got to his polling place at 6:00 a.m. And not long after that, others followed and the line started. "This is great. This is one of the greatest opportunities we have," said Tim Dermott, voter. He's like many here who wanted to wait for 'the day' to vote, despite the push for early voting. "It's election day! It's like Christmas. You have to vote on the day and go out and meet people, talk to them in line," said Dermott. And there were definitely plenty of lines to do that in. Of course the lines weren't always long, but there is a steady stream of voters. "I expected it to be a long wait. About 20 minutes, that's not too bad," said Damita Wash, voter. Now for the people that are through the line, another wait begins. "I'll be watching the results later on," said Marie Chaon, voter. More Good Stuff |
