LINN COUNTY - Voters should examine their ballots to make sure they are complete, said Joel Miller - Linn County Auditor.

Approximately 80 to 110 voters in Precinct CR39 (Franklin Middle School) voted before a voter notified election officials that the red oval next to Ben Rogers name was missing on the ballot. Rogers is a District 3 candidate for County Supervisor. At approximately 7:30am, the Auditor’s Office delivered 278 replacement ballots to CR39. At 8:30am, the Auditor’s Office delivered an additional 300 ballots to CR39 and the printer delivered 500 ballots. This afternoon, additional ballots will be delivered by the printer to CR39.

Prior to the election all ballots for every precinct in the County were tested and inspected and absentee ballots were likewise inspected prior to being issued. The printer contracted to print the ballots has acknowledged the error occurred in the batch of ballots delivered for today’s general election.

If any voter finds any ballot with a name, but not an oval beside it, they should get a new ballot from their precinct election official. For more information call 319-892-5300.
