WASHINGTON DC - Two Iowa Congressmen are trying to quickly get federal help for railroad bridge repairs.

Floodwaters destroyed railroad bridges in Waterloo, Cedar Rapids and Columbus Junction.

Bruce Braley and Dave Loebsack wrote to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday, asking her to support changes in a railroad financing program.

They say the government should loan money to railroads at a one percent interest rate for bridge repairs in a disaster area.
