Michigan Appeals Presidential Primary Ruling
LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The state of Michigan has appealed a judge's decision that part of a law establishing a January 15 presidential primary in Michigan is unconstitutional.
The state attorney general's office wants a decision from the Michigan Court of Appeals by Friday. The holdup is affecting not just Michigan's primary but New Hampshire's, where Secretary of State Bill Gardner is waiting to see what happens in Michigan before setting the date for his primary, the first after the Iowa caucuses. January 8th has emerged as the most likely day, but Gardner refuses to rule out a mid-December primary. Iowa's caucuses are scheduled for January 3rd. More Good Stuff |
