EVANSDALE, Iowa - Thursday marked two months since two Black Hawk County Cousins were last seen. The community and family members gathered for a prayer vigil at the Countryside Vineyard Church in Evansdale. Those praying said even though it's been two months, their faith in finding the two girls hasn't changed.

Candles lit up the parking lot as dozens prayed for the safe return of Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins. Heather and Drew Collins were there to hear prayers, scripture readings and kind words from those in the community.

"The community is so supportive and they are not giving up. They call these girls, their girls. They are here for the long run, they are not going to leave until they've got answers and we've got our girls back," said Heather Collins.

"It basically charges your batteries," added Drew Collins.

Few developments have been announced in the case. The Collins family said while it's frustrating, their just as hopeful today as they were 2 months ago.

"We just pray every morning, every night and throughout the day, our hopes haven't died down," said Heather Collins.

Pink still colors the city of Evansdale and it's clear the community remains shaken.

"It's just brought us together as a community. We just all have the same goals, to bring the girls home," said Robin Arnold, of Cedar Falls.

Arnold was the host of the Thursday night vigil. She said the community is behind the families 100 percent.

"I've never seen a community so knit together," she said.

The "Cousins Law" petition was laid inside the church for people to sign as well. The petition has collected nearly 7 thousand signatures so far and Arnold is hoping for at least 10 thousand. "Cousins Law" focuses on faster public notification when children are missing. The Collins family supports the change, while remaining steadfast in their belief that someone out there could help find their daughter and niece.

"We pray for whoever has taken them and we pray every night for whoever knows something and is scared to come forward," said Heather Collins.
