FBI Says Search for White Van in Evansdale Case Prompted by Report of Attempted AbductionBy Dave Franzman, Reporter
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - FBI spokesperson Sandy Breault confirmed to KCRG.com that the search for a while van and a possible person of interest in Evansdale was prompted by the report of an attempted abduction in Cedar Rapids.
Authorities issued a photo taken by a convenience store camera Wednesday in an attempt to locate someone who had visited an Evansdale convenience store on the afternoon of July 13th. That’s the day two cousins, Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins, vanished near Meyers Lake. Breault said investigators had no connection between the person, and a white van, in the Evansdale photos to their missing persons case. However, the near abduction in Cedar Rapids reported Wednesday prompted officers to review the surveillance and locate the person and white van pictured there. The person involved saw the photos and talked to authorities. The FBI says he cooperated and is not a suspect. Most Popular |
