Video Captures Shawn Johnson at Des Moines Bar

DES MOINES - Video of Shawn Johnson has surfaced on YouTube of the Olympic gymnast at a Des Moines bar. The 17-year-old had just received a distinguished award earlier in the day a the Character Counts awards.

The Des Moines Register talked to Eric Koele, manager of Blue Moon to get the scoop. According to Koele, because Blue Moon is a restaurant as well as a bar, state law does not prohibit minors from going in. Blue Moon’s own policy is not to let minors in after 6 p.m. “Obviously, we made an exception for Shawn Johnson. She was with her parents and dance partner and her security person, plus we had our security, too. She drank lemonade.”
