YMCA staying put, not moving to Port of Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The Dubuque YMCA is staying put. A post on the YMCA's website says it won't be moving from its current spot.

Instead of building at a new location, the YMCA will build a new facility at the same spot on North Booth Street.

The decision not to move comes after the YMCA announced plans in February to build a new facility in the Port of Dubuque. That move would have cost the YMCA $20 million.

As of February, the facility was still researching how to pay for the construction at a new location. It's not clear how much building on the current location will cost.
