Waterloo Police sergeant found dead

WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Waterloo Police Chief Dan Trelka says a city police sergeant has died.

Trelka posted about the death on Facebook, around 7:00 p.m., Sunday.

"On Sunday, April 15, 2018 Sergeant Robert J. Greenlee III (Waterloo Police Department) was found deceased in his residence," Trelka wrote in the post. "His death does not appear to be suspicious in nature and cause of death is pending an autopsy."

Trelka called Greenlee a "respected husband, father, police officer and member of the community."

"He will be missed by many," said the post. "Funeral arrangement information is pending at this time."
