Snow ends, wind returns

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - Periods of snow Tuesday will be wrapping up by about 7 p.m. Until then, some brief bursts of heavier snow are possible, which will reduce visibility as they pass through. A quick accumulation would also come from those bursts.

Wind will increase Tuesday evening and be strongest during the night. Northwest winds will be sustained at 15 to 25 mph and gust as high as 30 mph. The wind is going to remain fairly stiff during the day Wednesday, still gusting up to 25 mph. Blowing snow shouldn’t a major problem because of how wet the snow is. If there were to be blowing snow, it’d be mainly in open areas north of Highway 20 where the higher snowfall amounts fell.
