UPDATE: Cedar Rapids Police Investigate Multiple Shootings

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) The Cedar Rapids Police Department says they're investigating three late night shootings in Cedar Rapids.

In each case, police say at least one person was injured.

Police responded to the first shooting on Friday evening around 7:30 p.m., near the 1500 block of 5th Avenue SE. At least one person got hurt, and had only non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the second shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. Saturday morning on the northeast side of town. Officials say the shooting took place at A Avenue and 18th Street NE. Detectives taped off an area to investigative for evidence as investigators told KCRG-TV 9 that two people went to the hospital for treatment and both are expected to survive.

The third shooting took place just minutes later around 1:45 a.m. Police say they went to the 900 block of Maplewood Drive NE, with one person wounded but, again, with an injury considered non-life threatening.

Cedar Rapids Police say all the investigations from Friday night into early Saturday morning continue as they have not announced any arrests in the shootings.
