IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Iowa Hawkeye football players are visiting classrooms at Iowa City elementary schools for the annual Hawkeye Readers program.

The partnership between the University of Iowa football program and the Iowa City UNESCO City of Literature organization gives the players a chance to talk to students about reading and its importance for success.

The program started April 2 and goes until May 7 at three Iowa City area schools.
