La Porte City teen suffers life-threatening injuries in Black Hawk County crash

BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A La Porte City teen has life-threatening injuries after a crash in Waterloo Wednesday night, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Troopers said around 10 p.m. a pick up pulling a trailer was stopped in the eastbound ravel portion of U.S. 20 near the U.S. 63 exit when the car 17-year-old Noah Boyer was driving hit the right side of the trailer at highway speed.

45-year-old Keith Miner from Creston was driving the pickup pulling the trailer to pick up part of the lost load. He was not injured.

Emergency crews had to extricate Boyer from his car, then took him to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City with life-threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
