CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The sunshine is here for a bit of time today, but clouds will start to build back into the TV9 viewing area as our next system draws closer. Temperatures today will be roughly a few degrees warmer than yesterday thanks to a strong southerly wind. Winds will come from the south at about 10 to 20 mph. Thanks to the southerly wind and cloud cover throughout the evening and overnight hour’s low temperatures will stay into the teens. Monday will be much warmer as a warm front lifts, however this system will bring in the chance of a wintry mix especially to the northern half of the viewing area. Another chance for precipitation will arrive Tuesday as a cold front swings in. Rain and snow will be likely.
