DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - By the end of the day May 20, Save-A-Lot will close its doors in Dubuque.

Coborn's, Inc. announced the closing Tuesday afternoon. That's the parent company for Save-A-Lot.

The store could close sooner if inventory sells quickly leading up to the closure.

Right now the store employs four full-time and eight part-time employees. They've been offered help in finding other opportunities within the company, and if they can't relocate, will be offered severance packages.

Coborn's owns Save-A-Lot locations in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Beloit, Wisconsin and Freeport, Illinois.

"We're exiting the Dubuque market at this time because our current lease has expired,” said Bruce Miller, Coborn’s, Inc. Vice President of Operations. Closing this location will not impact our other Save a Lot locations. "
