CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The driver, the only person in the car, has been identified as 75-year-old William Zahn of Cedar Rapids.
The accident remains under investigation.
On October 12 at 5:51 a.m. Linn County Deputies, Mt. Vernon Fire Department and Lisbon-Mt. Vernon Ambulance service responded to a personal injury accident at 1001 West Mount Vernon Road.
Personnel found a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer had gone into the north ditch, hitting the driveway of the residence and then rolled multiple times.
The car came to rest in a bean field.
The driver was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name has not yet been released.
The accident is under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office says emergency responders are on the scene of a one-vehicle fatality accident on the 1000 block of West Mt. Vernon Road.
Traffic is slow in the area and they are asking drivers to use caution.
