CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - A spotty shower is possible Wednesday night, mainly in northern Iowa. On Thursday, that chance of scattered showers and a couple thunderstorms continues, mainly in the morning through early afternoon. Highs should end up in the upper 70s to about 80, and the humidity will be creeping up a little. Additional scattered storms may flare up Thursday night, but those ought to be out by daybreak Friday.
The heat and humidity will be in full force as highs climb into the 90s Friday through Monday. With the humid air, heat indices will go over 100. Lows fall only to the 70s, so there won't be much relief at night.
By Monday night, an approaching cold front will bring a chance of storms, and that lasts into Tuesday. It'll drop highs back into the lower 80s, too.
