QUASQUETON, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Summers in Quasqueton draw a large outdoor crowd, especially on the weekends. Whether you're camping or spending some time on the Wapsipinicon River, there's something for everyone. “It’s peaceful and relaxing,” says Carol Bates. “You can float the river and be with a lot of friends.”
“I come down here for vacation with my dad,” says Daniel Chilbers, who lives in Aurora. “He lives out of state and comes down to have fun.”
The campground has seen some upgrades in recent years with a community-funded new shower house and playground for the kids. Our Town swells in population on the weekends, bringing customers to local businesses.
“They come over here at night and have something to eat and drink and enjoy the environment,” says Mayor Chad Staton, who hopes the river and campsite will continue to draw visitors for years to come.
