BUCHANAN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A crash between a motorcycle and truck has sent one to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by helicopter.

Law enforcement and emergency workers rushed to the intersection of Highway 281 and Fairbank-Amish Boulevard in Buchanan County at 1:41 p.m. Friday.

Iowa State Patrol says a motorcycle driven by Gregory Fernau, 35 of Hazelton, tried to pass a truck as the truck was trying to turn left. Fernau's motorcycle hit the driver's side door of the truck.

Aircare took the motorcyclist to UIHC. He was not wearing a helmet.
