New poll shows Hubbell leads Dems in primary bid for governor

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- With about two weeks until the Iowa primary, a new poll found Fred Hubbell is the favorite to win the Democratic nomination for governor.

The Individuals running in the Democratic Gubernatorial Primary are: Nate Boulton, Cathy Glasson, Fred Hubbell, Andy McGuire, John Norris, and Ross Wilburn.

The Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll gave Fred Hubbell an 11 point lead with 31% of respondents saying they'd vote for him if the election were held today.

Nate Boulton had the support of 20% of the respondents. Cathy Glasson followed with 13%. John Norris and Andy McGuire both received 5%. Ross Wilburn placed at the bottom with 3%.

The poll questioned 501 likely Democratic primary voters between May 13th and 15th. It had a margin of error of 4.4%.

The winner of the Democratic primary will go up against the current governor, Kim Reynolds. She is the only Republican running.

The primary is June 5th.
