CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Finally rain chances are moving into the TV9 viewing area. As an area of low pressure pushes closer to eastern Iowa the chance of rain increases. At this time there is a chance for rain Monday morning and throughout the day. Chances will be very scattered across all of eastern Iowa.
The best chance of rain will move in Tuesday and into Wednesday as a cold front begins to push through the TV9 viewing area. Thunderstorms are likely. At this time, no severe weather is expected. Although a few storms could become strong.
Rainfall totals over the next three days look to stay around 0.5” to roughly an inch with heavier storms.
Any rain is welcomed considering we’re still dealing with drought conditions across portions of the state.
