CLINTON, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The inmate who died has been identified as Gavin Glasz.
“The homicide case against Gavin Glasz for the deaths of Brian and Michelle Glasz will be dismissed due to Gavin’s death,” Clinton County Attorney Mike Wolf said.
An investigation into the death of Gavin Glasz is being conducted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
“There is no suspicion of foul play due to a note that was written by Gavin prior to his death,” Clinton County Sheriff Rick Lincoln said.
The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner pending an autopsy.
Early Sunday morning, a correctional officer with the Clinton County Sheriff's Office jail found an unresponsive man inmate. The officer radioed for medical assistance and started CPR.
The Clinton Fire Department paramedics were not able to revive him. The Clinton County Medical Examiner's office pronounced him dead at the jail.
Several agencies are investigating the death.
